Corporate responsibility is an integral part of our corporate culture. This is reflected in both our mission statement as well our Values. Our corporate responsibility strategy allows us to systematically address the key issues impacting our business and stakeholders. We have specifically defined our requirements for the responsible conduct of all employees in numerous guidelines, such as our Social Charter and our Code of Conduct. We use management systems to steer goals, actions and responsibilities in key action areas.
Helping resolve global challenges Mankind is confronted with major global issues, such as climate change, the increasing demand for affordable, renewable energy, and a growing need for access to health. We believe that responsible corporate governance can help resolve global challenges. In 2011, we therefore refined our corporate responsibility (CR) strategy, which comprises three spheres of activity: people, products, and environment.
